good spotting

hey I'm looking for a really good spotting scope to go elk hunting in Co.. I want the best scope for the price (of course) but it has to work well. It needs to be waterproof, and have an excellent sight picture under low light situations. the weight is also a deciding factor, we will be stalking elk on foot. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Many of the top shooters use the Kiowa scopes and their prices are very reasonable depending on model.I have used and own Carl Zeis that's what worked for me as I spend long hours looking through the scope.Better the glass the less eye fatigue.I have looked through a lot of glass over the years and you get what you pay for. The Leupold S.Scopes are a good value with decent glass and you can spend a fair amount time looking through them without eye fatigue.

I found good deals on sportsmnsguide.com for spotting scopes and everything else. There is a Barska waterproof scope 20-60X60mm for $54 club price. I think I will like this one even!

My other hobby is astronomy. My 2 cents is that the best spotting scopes for the money come from companies that market to amateur astronomers. They usually carry some really fine optics at cut rate prices:

Orion Telescopes and Binoculars
Anacortes Telescope and Wild Bird
Optics Planet
Oceanside Photo and Telescope
