Good Sporting clay guns.

I have shot with a Remington 11-87 and a Beretta 303 12ga trap modified choke. Out of the two the Beretta is much better, it never lets me down. I haven't fired many(if any because I don't recall) slugs from it.

Does anyone have a preference for shell brands?

I am having some trouble connecting your thread title with your question.

I shoot clays quite a bit with my '55 Wingmaster so I consider it a "good sporting clay gun" for me. It fits me well and I do OK. I use the shells that I buy at the club which are Estate #8's.

I probably would not use the Estates in a gas gun though as they seem quite dirty. No problem in my easy-to-clean 870 but too messy in my 1100.

For the gas gun, I will spring for Winchester AA's but I do not use that much for SC.

My father's SC 1100 eats AA's regularly though and, since I clean it, I can tell you that they work well and are not especially filthy.

Haven;t shot lately but I used to use federal low charge 8's on calm and 7 1/2 on windier days. Usually had a deal for 10 boxes so it was cheaper. I have also used winchester paper loads but I wasn't impressed.
