Good passive night vision scopes?

The Tactical Nite Vision Company has a website, as do several others.
I'm mumbling about a Gen 3 scope, but none of the worthwhile scopes come cheap.
The D-740 4X Gen 3 at around $3,500-$3,700 looks interesting, though.

Check the return policy of Optics Planet if I recall correctly your only recouse is to return it to the factory, there are no refunds!
I recently purchased a $5000 FLIR unit, it is not a NV scope it is a hand held 'camera' It works day and night in smoke and light fog/rain. Because it works off heat vegitation and camoflage do not affect it.
If you go with a gen. 3 NV scope stick with the 2X model it will save you several hundred dollars
BTW I bought my unit through Sportsmans Guide, they sell units well over $7000

A good starting point for research is the www.tnvc.com website and their industry forum at AR15.com. Even if you don't buy from them, they have a lot of useful info on night vision.
