Good gun karma Px4 9mm subcompact.

I have been reading about the Beretta PX4 subscompact 9mm for few weeks. It looked good on paper but had never actuacly handled one. I don't think I have even seen on display anywhere. I like double stacked 9mm as my EDC, I carry the Kel Tec P11 now, and have been looking at the S&W and Ruger compacts as on upgrade. I really like that the Storm has 13 round mags my KT and the Ruger has 10 and the Smith is at 12. The Glock 26 is out for me, I reload and don't want to buy another barrel for a carry gun to practice with.

I went to the local range today and they had a used one in the case I had my P11 in my range bag with me and asked the shop owner if I could compare the 2. Side by side, they are nearly the same width with the px4 being a bit wider with decocker levers, but the actual slides were very close. They both have 3 inch barrels so length is pretty much the same. After handling it for a few miniutes I was hooked, and put it in layaway. So I'm pretty excited this may put my P11 into retirement.

Congrats! The PX4s are outstanding and underappreciated pistols.

If at some point you're interested, you can buy "stealth" levers from Beretta that are much less prominent than the stock safety levers and which also convert the gun from "Type F" to "Type G" configuration (decocker only, where the lever automatically springs back up to the fire position after decocking).

Of coure this might create a domino effect, if I really like this pistol I'll want to get full size and compact to have the matched set. Which in some ways makes sense to have the same manual of arms for carry and nightstand guns. Oh well :o

My PX4 .45 is a good gun ---- the 9mm subcompact I had, not so much.

It functioned and grouped well--the problem was the point of impact was 10 inches low at 10 feet and only got worse as distance increased-----I don't have the time or patience to deal with Beretta customer service---so it got traded for a Glock 19.

I have since picked up a px4 9mm full size, I find I carry that more the SC now. The weight difference between the two is small. Both of mine shoot point of aim, so I really have no complaints. I have the SC up for sale, just so I can fund something else. But if it doesn't sell I won't be crying in my beer either. ☺
