I have two dot sights on my Taurus PT1911 and they annoyed the hell out of me. I couldn't group this close to save my life. I recently took a sharpie and colored in the dots and made everything black, and now my grouping is MUCH better!:D Anyone else have this problem?

We can't tell from the 1st photo what distance you were shooting at or what the size of the group is. '

We need something like this:

NICE group!!! :D I completely forgot. I was shooting from 12 yards using 230gr. PMC ball ammo. The group was 4 inches. I haven't really broke it in yet. I've only fired 20 rounds through it.

BloodOmen911:

Solid black sights don't reflect light. With white dots your eye has a tendency to focus on the dots and not the sights. Go to a 2700 bullseye match and see how many master shooters are using white dots. When I was shooting for several Marine Corps pistol teams I uses sight blackener after each stage of the competition.

Blood, you only have 20 rounds through it, but were saying you couldnt group well with it? Maybe you should try shooting it a little first before changing things. I find it very hard to believe you had a problem with the sights, and then corrected it, with only 20 rounds total through the gun. Did you shoot one mag, and didnt like the results, and then colored in the sights, shot one more mag, and figured the problem was fixed? Ive never heard of anyone basing a guns performance on one mag's worth of amo before.
