I read this in some online article today but can't remember where. I've changed the names to reflect our current election situation.
William Daley, Al Gore, and George W. Bush are stranded in the middle of the ocean on a lifeboat. They are all starving. There is a small package of food on board, but only enough for 1 person. They begin to squabble over who gets the food when Daley declares that they must be fair about it. "Let us vote by secret ballot on who gets the food" he proclaims, and so they have just such a vote.
Daley wins, 8 votes to 2.
