Good deal or bad?

I just purchased my final rifle this year. It is a Winchester 70 xtr in 7mm rem. magnum. It appears to have original synthetic stock. It has a Redfield 3 x 9 "Made in USA" Partner scope on it. I would call the bluing 95% with some wear on the cartridge dropout box. Stock only has minor scuffs. Bore needs cleaning but looks good. I paid $400 for this combo at my local payday pawn shop. Did I get screwed or did I make an OK deal. I know this is aggrandizing but I need to salve my ego so I can defend the purchase with my wife.

I don't know sir, but have to say that's one of the best statements I've read on here in a while.:D

400 ain't bad for a 95% push feed 70, if the 95% includes the bore. If it's been shot a lot, well.........you got a good scope.

My goal is to put my 3x12 Meopta 50mm scope on it with leupold high rings and make a "beanfield" rifle out of it. I will have access to a shooting club where shots can exceed 300 yds.
