Good deal on Federal shells at Academy...

Just picked up a case of Federal shells for $1.99 a box ($19.90 a case). If you live near an Academy Sports, you might check it out.

I bought 7 1/2 shot, 1 oz., 3 1/4 dram. I also saw 6 and 8 shot. They were clearing them out pretty fast at that price.
 
I bet they were!!! That is as cheap as reloading them yourself!!!

The federal hulls load kinda hard but last forever, keep them if you are going to reload in the future.
 
Last year, this store got in a ton of shells and sold them cheaply before the dove opener ($1.99 Federals, $2.49 for Remington Heavy Dove). This year though, they are just clearing out the overstock left from dove season. Maybe I should have bought another case or two, but I have the feeling that a similar deal will come along next year.
 
I live in Pasadena,Texas and the academy that I go to didn't have them on sale like that. The cheapest they had was $3.99 a box. and those were the promo jobs. sj
 
hmmm, very good price indeed. i kinda like the extra 1/8oz though. some of us need all the help they can get.:rolleyes: :D

i still have so many boxes left over from years ago i don't need any right now. but thanks for the heads up!
 
sjones: Sorry to send you on a wild goose chase. I guess that Academy sales are store to store--unlike some of the Wal-Mart sales posted here in the past where lots of folks found the same prices on items.

Mike: I may check into that $3.99 CCI tomorrow.
