After having lunch with an online friend from Glock Talk, we cruised over to this store (Sherwood's Spirit of America) here in Santa Fe that has an amazing collection of museum-quality old Western weapons, art, clothing and artifacts. They also sell a few modern guns. Many are horribly overpriced (some hilariously so, like the Norinco Tokarev for $350), but every once in a while I spot a bargain (like the fine condition 2 3/4" Security-Six I picked up for $215 or $225 or something like that this past December).
There are always lots of neat old 1903 Colts and SAAs and things to look at, and we enjoyed doing so. Anyway, in addition to an interesting ex-Indy PD Beretta 96 with Trijicons that had been owned by James Gandolfini (a friend of Mikey, the owner of Sherwood's) that they had out for $425, they had a Charter Arms 3" stainless .44 Special from the late '80s Charter company, NIB, for $225.
That's a good deal, my friends, but I didn't need it, so I walked away. I'm very proud of myself.
