Anyone know of good pistolsmiths within a couple hours of Knoxville? I'm familiar with Guncraft and Tamara's former cohort. I was just wondering if there were any others in the area that I could try out.

Tamara, I did not have a clue he was over there. I didn't even know that they did smith work. Since when?

The only problem I have with Randy's is that, like Craig's, they must hate me because they are only open when I'm at work.

Jack19, I sent the directions to you in a PM.

Tim Ford of Ballistic Tool Works is very good. His number is (865) 556-3348. He is located in Knoxville and I can highly recommend him. He has done a beavertail install on my Goldcup. It was a beautiful job. Great attention to detail. He does all different kinds of work on 1911's. He works on Glocks (grip reductions) , AR15's, AK's and revolvers. He has also worked on my TRP (lightened trigger and knocked off a few sharp edges. He has bead blast capabilities, and does Ballisti-cote finishes. He is also a very nice guy. I know this is my first post here and I am not very well known here but I just had to tell you about Tim. I hope some of you will give him a call.

Jeff Walle works at Specialty Arms in LaVergne TN. I have not had him do any work personally but several people seem to like his work. There was a TPH he built featured in March 1999 Combat Handguns. Think he has been in a few other publications as well.
I don't have a # for Specialty Arms but they are listed in the phone book.

I've seen and handled Ballistic Tool Works stuff at a Pope show here in K-town. It seemed to be quite good work.

Well, full time since last Tuesday. Until then he'd been picking up and dropping off at both Randy's and Fox & Co. I guess Randy realized Shannon is quite a draw locally (twelve years at Guncraft'll do that) and decided to make him an offer.
