Goldfinger gun

Looks like Goldfinger is using a custom made gold Colt Official Police. Seems somewhat unrealistic to me. Oh sure if you ahve the money you can spend it and do it, but wouldn't the gun begin melting after the first few shots from the heat? Has anyone ever made any kind of weapon out of gold? Just for fun if not for use?

I wouldn't be worried about the melting...

I'd be worried about the frame stretching.

Gold is VERY maleable, even when alloyed with other metals.

Brass Revolver

I do not have a gold revolver, but I have a revolver made of brass except the clyinder. It is a J N Scotts 32 S & W made in the 1890s by Ottis Smith. I AM NOT GOING TO FIRE IT TO SEE IF IT WORKS. It looks like a hammerless Top Break, but is a solid frame. Has a safety for the internal hammer and clyinder stop is under the top strap. A real ODD BALL.

Brass revolver

Here is what Eigth Editon of Faurgerman said (please pardon the spelling) Its distinctive all brass construction---with only the cylinder of steel: classifies as an Americanarms oddity. (only a few thousand made under Maltby, Henley and Co: Spencer and J N Scott) The Scott appears to be quit rare, because I only saw one reference it it in "98AndB4".
