Golden Gate Riflescopes

Does anyone know the manufacturing history of these scopes?

I've tried google, yahoo, aol, ask, etc., and searched numerous
fourms with negative results.

I purchased a used Remington .308 bolt gun that came with this
scope. Seller advised it was along the same lines as Tasco and
Bushnell.

Markings:
Golden Gate
2.5-8x32
Image Moving
Nitrogen Filled
Fully Coated Lenses
Japan

This is a real ghost company.
Anyone ever heard of it?
Thanks

I traded for a Golden Gate scope the same as described. I got it at a famous gun shop in El Cerrito Calif., the name escapes me now. That was in 1971 or 72. It was one hell of a scope as I could put five shot groups in a fifty cent piece at 100 yards with a custom Arisaka 7.7 that at one time been a Japanese sniper rifle. I had it complety glass inbeded in a Herters walnut stock and it had a timney match trigger assembly. Sure like to know where that rifle is now!
