Gold Match -vs-Trophy Match

Owners care to compare notes ? Both are in the same price range with the Gold Match being signifigantly more in my area. Whats the deal with the Gold Match ? Isn't it simply a Custom Classic with fancy grips and a nicer finish ? Or is your extra $3-400 getting you more than just "match" barrel and trigger ?
 
The Gold Match is allegedly put together better. Both of my Custom Classics group under 1" at 25 yds however. The newer Kimbers do not seem to be put together with as much attention to detail as the older ones. I have looked at some of the Gold Match models recently and was not impressed with the fit. You can always buy a Custom and install an $86 Kart barrel. Now you have a superbly accurate 1911 for less than a Gold Match.
 
Exactly Joe D ! Why would you pay the extra for a Gold Match when you could have a top name brand barrel installed on the Custom Classic. I don't see what your getting with the Kimber's "customshop" guns other than one or two nameless match parts and a fancy finish.
 
I have had my stainless Gold Match for about a year now and it is significantly more accurate than my Classic Custom was. It has also been 100% reliable. Couldn't be happier.
