Gold Dot P+ in Glock 19 9mm ?

I bought some Gold Dot 124gr P+ 9mm ammo for my Glock 19.

Wondering if there are any issue putting P+ through my Glock 19?

If I need to provide more specifics, just let me know.

When I was a Deputy I carried Winchester Ranger +P+ in my Glock 19 and never had an issue. Over 15,000 rds of various 9mm with no issues.

Glocks info to Law Enforcement indicates that +P, and even +P+, ammunition may be fired in the Glock pistol. Glocks are not my favorite, but I do have some experience with them and consider them to be one of the heaviest duty/robust 9MM pistols available. I do not have any hesitation in firing any quality 9MM NATO, +P or +P+ in my Glocks......ymmv

That is a premier defensive round you are shooting out of an excellent firearm platform. I suppose you might wear your 19 out slightly faster shooting that round than range ammo, but if you can afford to shoot that round so much that this becomes an issue, you can easily afford a new Glock when it wears out at maybe 100k rounds.

It will be fine...

But you may want to consider the standard pressure version after you shoot up the +p. The standard pressure only gives up 50fps, and you still get the same penitration. Less recoil, muzzle flash, and similar performance... Recent advances in bullet design are making +p ammo less and less relevant.

Lots of good feedback

Lots of really clear, helpful feedback.

I'm using this for home defense, not target or CCW (my town is pretty safe, so I don't carry on a regular basis).

+marine6680 : I also have some Federal JHP 147gr that I can use.

Thanks guys!

Its always a good idea to shoot a box of your intended defensive ammo, just to make sure your pistol will feed it well.

Glocks tend to not be picky though, and Gold Dots, and HSTs tend to be the most reliable feeding ammo from what I have seen.

I personally use HST 124gr standards pressure.

That's one of my preferred carry loads, so I sure hope they're ok!

In all seriousness, though, everything I've seen says they oughta be fine.
