Going to Look at a 1974 New Model Super Blackhawk

I am soon going to look at a 1974 Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk .44 magnum. Is there anything in particular I should be on the lookout for in this gun? Any problem areas? Thanks guys.

The only problem I've encountered is that they are habit forming!

If the gun has been fired with heavy, full power magnum ammunition, there could be some battering or peening of the base pin and/or the base pin latch. This causes the base pin to "jump the latch" when fired. Simple fix, replace the latch screw nut.

Boy, you said a mouthful there...

To the OP, just wait until you try that small framed Blackhawk...it is even more habit forming.
