Hey yall, I have a friend who wants to get a carry gun. He has a friend who might sell him a P225. The gun is in excellent to like new condition. I mean it has no wear! The guy is asking $500 for it. I am thinking my friend oughta talk his friend down for less. I would try for $400 myself and maybe come up to the middle.

Second, what do you all think about the 225? From what I have read in the archives, not many have said anything bad about them. Even getting it for $500 might be a good deal since the other thing he is thinking about getting is the Glock 26 and that is going to run him about $500-550 when it is all said and done. Let me know and I appreciate your prompt replies.

I have two 225's and did not spend more than 425 for either of mine, both lnib...one is two tone the other k-kote.

But as with anything, its worth what you pay for it. Given that you can find a NIB blued 225 for around 450 or so, 500 is a bit high.

I love the pistol, it is my carry gun and I find it incredibly accurate, ergonomic and just plain fun.

For about $525 you can get a new SIG 239, another single stack SIG. You can get the 239 in 9mm, .357 SIG, or .40 S&W.

Other than doing a buddy a favor, I don't see a reason to go buy the Sig 225.
