Going back to revolvers

I doubt it'll happen on a widespread basis. That's just cutting their nose off to spite their face. It's just plain stupid to revert to less effective firearms.

But if it did happen, that's fine by me. It leaves more semi-auto ammo on the shelves for the rest of us.

Don't most PDs use glocks now, thats not an American company.

I don't think S&W nor Ruger are worried about sales right now since they are backlogged and both say it will be a while before they catch up.

Who's gonna make the Revolvers, S&W and Ruger.

I really don't see either agency switching back.

But if I was to go back into LE a revolver would be my choice as a service handgun. I'd take the same Model 28 I used in my 20 years as a cop.

FWIW...may not make you feel better but I think the 'no trespassing' issue is a universal issue. I've got video of a guy walking up to a fence line and climbing over the fence at a fence post that had the 'no trespassing' sign attached to it. He leaned his shotgun against the sign while he climbed the fence.

I'll add that his stay was a very short one.

So they will boycott the gun makers. Unless one of the companies gives in, and since those companies full well know what happened to S&W during the Clinton era so they won't give in, there will not be anybody those cities can buy revolvers from.

What company only makes high quality wheelguns but not the evil semi-autos? I can't think of any.

Who dearly hopes we never have reason to refer to the above president as "Clinton 1"

Let the goofy mayors that promote this stuff arm their police with slingshots for all I care. You can't fix stupid.

Weren't the police in Tijuana disarmed and given slingshots at one time? I'm sure the police chief and the police association will make a big stink over any regression in technology.

I've always thought that government policing should be done with lesser equipment than was available to the public...
Maybe they could go with a combo like 38 special wheel guns and double barrel shotguns. I think Biden had been promoting the qualities of the double barrel shotgun recently...

Yes, this I'd sarcasm.

I'm not an LEO but I have a son who was a street cop for a few years in a large city. He was diligent about going to the range for regular practice because he felt his job required that he be actually proficient with his firearm. He told me, however, that the actual proficiency tests he had to take were a joke, with a large paper target set up about 10 feet from the shooter's position. He added that many of his fellow officers rarely if ever fired at the range and were probably less skilled than some of the gangbangers they had to deal with. That all said, it is obvious that the police need high capacity semi-automatics since they need this capacity to spray and pray that they hit their target. But there is something nostalgic to think of all cops going back to 6-shooters. Maybe we could really be safe and have them use old single action Colt 45's, worn in a low, tied down cowboy holster.

If this is becoming the norm...........time to move....just my two cents.
That's not the answer.

If everyone just leaves, who will stay behind to fight? That state will pass onerous laws that go unchallenged, and those laws may be assumed to be acceptable, thus going on to be precedents.

Awesome news. Now if the mayors can convince the cops to get rid of all their guns, the criminals will be running scared from their respective cities.

Good to know Minneapolis is rolling in enough money right now to replace all their PD's firearms with more expensive revolvers. Not to mention all the other expenses that would be associated with a move like that.

Their mayor, Rybak, has said he's not running for reelection and may be up for a post in the current administration. He's doing nothing more than talking out of his rear-end and sucking up in the hope of future employment.

Thats not the answer.

I totally agree......we law abiding , working class citizens that pay our taxes and are grateful for our forefathers and current brave soldiers that have fought for our liberties in this country have to have more backbone ! I am a hunter , a competitive target shooter , and believe in my right to protect myself and my family , and I do not want to have my rights infringed on or treated like a criminal !
