GO AHEAD! MAKE MY DAY!!!!

Looking for another gun (can't help myself). Everything I like I either have or have something so similar so as to make it redundant. Now thinking, well I only have one 44 mag (scoped Super Redhawk) that I use for hunting (Never saw anything, let alone shot anything), maybe I should get another 44 mag. S&W revolvers have those silky smooth trigers. I should probably get a Dirty Harry gun with an 8+ inch barrel. I try to rationalize this prospective purchase with bona fide reasons. The best I can do is 1-- I want to target shoot using the normal iron sights. It's too much trouble removing the scope from the Ruger SR and then when I put it back I'll have to rezero, and 2-- Although the 44 mag loads are pretty hot, I need another gun to shoot 44 Specials.
Do I have a valid point ( other than on top of my head)? Should I seek counseling? Should I buy my wife and kids something instead or should I go ahead and make my day????? Responses will be most welcome. Sincerely, Twoinchgroup52.

Buy the Wife & kids something as you seem to have quite a few toys at the moment.
That way in a few months you can get a new gun "guilt free" ;)
Psychobabble from another gun nut :D

You have to ask yourself one question - Do I feel lucky? well do ya? Get the .44 model 29 (blued) with a 6in barrel add a cattle baron leather shoulder holster(dirty harry special) add three speedloaders, load your revolver with .44specials then go down to goodwill and buy an ugly 1970's sport coat and you are ready to fight crime and dispense one liners. :) G.R.

Go ahead make your day. :D Been there done that. I have a 629 8 3/8 barrel. I love it.
Very good shooter and was very accurate right out of the box. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Happy Shooting :)

Sounds like you've already made up your mind.
You only go around once...

Besides, do you really expect any of us to talk you out of buying something? ;)

As long as your wife and kids won't be waiting for you with one of your other toys, go ahead and buy the S&W. Just make sure you remembered Valentine's Day.

You got to ask yourself this question punk do you feel lucky today? Then go ahead and make my day! The Dirty Harry Model 29 has the pinned barrel, with recessed chambers, with a 6.5 inch barrel and blue steel finish. I have one, and it is not for sale. I remember back in the mid 70's when you had to put your name on a list, put up a hefty cash deposit, inorder, to wait months, for one of these gems. You will probably be hard pressed to find an original 6.5 inch pinned barrel Dirty Harry model. No gun collection is complete without one. Your post caused me to go to the gun room and get mine out and lovingly caress it for a few moments. I haven't even looked at it in years, but I think about it from time to time and it is comforting to know that it is patiently waiting in the gun vault, and if needed, when called on will come through. After all "This is the most powerful hangun in the world, or that what Clint said anyway. Buy the gun. ;)
