Ok, this is what I did...
Used some jeweler's rouge and a soft soft tip on a dremel on low speed. Looked at the way the parts went together and touched up the parts that connected ever-so-slightly. Just barely enough to make these contact surfaces shiny.
IMO it's much easier to just disassemble the thing and see how the surfaces connect than try to come up with technical words that will describe exactly which parts to polish.
For me, the job was worth the effort... a slight improvement, but big satisfaction that I did it on my own...
Remember, go SLOW and use as non abraisive a compound as you can get... a little bit will do the trick nicely.
