Glockster's! Sight questions..

Hey there Glocksters... I don't own one, so I am going to have to rely on you all to answer some of my questions..

I had a few questions about the sights. Actually, about the slide more than the sights.

First off, are all the sight etchings the same size? I mean, if I buy a set of "glock sights" do they fit all the glocks? Or are there big and small sets, or even worse, all are different sizes?

I see from the Glockmeister sight, there's a listed 6.5mm and 6.9mm I don't know what those measurements actually are of, but that tells me, there are at least 2 sizes?? It seems to list the 20,21,29,30 (10mm and. 45ACP) as the only ones that require the larger sizes... I am not sure what those sizes are... I think it describes the height of the rear sights?? Or the total height in general if it comes in a rear+front combo??

What I am interested in is, height aside, do the sight rails (etchings, whatever the grooves are called) are they the same size??

I'm sure I've confused you all.. asking about the dovetail grooves...

The front to back width of the rear dovetail is the same dimension on all Glocks. Since the slide is wider on the 20,21,29,30 models, the side to side dimension of the dovetail is wider as well.

The front cutout is the same on all models.

The front sights of all Glocks is the same. There are only two rear sights, differing only in their height. The taller (6.9mm) rear sight is used on the following Glocks: G20, G21, G29, G30, G31, G32, and G36. The shorter (6.5mm) one is used on everything else. There is only one adjustable sight (which comes standard on some models, such as the G34 and G35, and optional on all others), well, because it's adjustable.

Minor correction to the above information. Glock offers, through their parts catalog to armorers, a 7.1mm sight as an option. I don't think is comes on any factory delivered model but it is available from Glock, Inc.
