Glocks passed

Yes!!! One for the good guys and gals!!! Although I don't live there anymore I'm still pullin' for my brothers and sisters in california...Best, J. Parker

Mr Parker,

Your smart...you left the state before it got this bad. I wouldn't mind moving to AZ, NV or OR to avoid further gun restrictions from Feinstein and her goons!

I must admit, I got lucky. I requested a transfer and my company approved it back in '94. It's easy to say "get the heck out of California". But hard to do if that's where your livelyhood is. That's why my heart goes out to them. "God bless all gun lovin' Californians"!! Best, J. Parker

Hello! Anybody else notice this?

As I was browsing this list to see what you poor Kalifornians have to put up with under Frankenstein's rules... I saw THIS at the bottom of the list:

Other models have passed, and will be listed when the manufacturers pay the listing fees

YIKES!!! So what's this "listing fee" running? Guess who gets to PAY for this listing fee?

Some people are just stupid. It's a fact of life. And it's the ones with the LEAST common sense that feel it's their DUTY to make sure you do what they think is best for you because you don't know any better!!!!

don't want to cause a scare, but I have heard an unconfirmed report that Kimbers did not pass the test. I forgot why. but i think it was something stupid like trigger pull. if anyone can comfirm or deny this report please let us know

Correct, 70 series 1911s including Kimbers are not going to pass. Its not the trigger pull, I keep hearing its a lack of a transfer safety bar and discharges in drop tests...

All this is going to prove is that all handguns are "safe" at least as far as The People's Democratic Republic of Kalifornia is concerned.

That's why I just bought a Kimber Heritage Custom Classic. Beat the cutoff. I'd rather not have another Series 80 (have several already).

I assume, if true, Kimber will eventually come out with their version of the Series 80 firing pin safety a la Colt and Para Ord and resubmit for certification.

Fwiw, they already use Series 80 extractors, firing pins, firing pin stops anyway. (Surprised me when I took apart my Compact!)

Btw, the Heritage works 100% and shoots great!

Wasen't there a thread a while ago concerning how Glocks and Sigs were handling this test? Because they didn't have a manual safety on the slide, they could be considered unsafe and unpassable. But, they confronted the CA D.A. saying no allowence to sell, then no sell to L.E. Anybody have a update or comment on this. I may be wrong in my phrasing.

I hadn't known that california passed what sounds like the same stupid attorney general public safety BAN we have here in mass. Sorry to hear about it. I knew it would start some stupid wave around the country.

It's very hard to get certain firearms around here.
Good luck to you guys.

WTF?

Other models have passed, and will be listed when the manufacturers pay the listing fees

Why would a company have to pay to be listed? That list isnt an advertisement... do they HAVE to be LISTED to be LEGAL?
I'ld sue - thats extortion.

There is no provision in the bill SB15 for listing. so i am assuming you don't need to be on the list to be legal. the list is probably a what the AG decided to help inform potential gun buys what guns are legal. and what companies help the state budget by paying to be on the list

I can't confirm, it's all here-say, but the local gun store guy said that with respect to Kimbers, they are going to be offering a "Kimber type 2" system which compliant with California laws. He said that Kimbers will have no problems.

Again, we all know that they can change the laws tomorrow, or this afternoon, because none of the laws actually make sense and are pretty arbitrary.

I can own 1000, 10-round clips, but if I own an 11 round one, BUSTED... someone explaining that one to me should earn a Nobel Prize for literature...

As to the "Not payed the fee to be listed", I posted about a month ago on how I figured Glock, Sig, and the others will pass but won't pay till after the first in order to clear their inventory. Money is not the issue, I think it is a onetime fee of $1,000 for each manufacturer to have all their guns listed.

Heck, if it didn't pass, think of all the money the state would have had to dole out to replace all those "unsafe" pistols the police departments use. Money talks, BS walks -straight to the city of Sacramento and the socialist legislature of the peoples republic of Kalifornia.
