Is it just me, or are there an inordinante amount of Glocks up for sale on the Handgun Sale board? Seems like every other post is a NIB Glock whatever!

Maybe they're just a fad for some people but I put 350 rounds through my Glock26 tonight and I have no intention's of ever getting rid of it unless it's as part of a trade-in for another Glock.

The gun is dead accurate, lightweight, and simple to field strip and clean.

It's without question, the finest firearm I have ever personally owned.

No Glocks are not a Fad. I have many range guns but the only brand I carry for self defense is a glock a model thirty to be exact. Glock is the finest personal protection firearm ever to be built.

Well, simply playing the percentages ... say X% of gun owners per year decide to sell a gun. Since there are a ton of Glock owners out there -- isn't it the most popular handgun type of all right now? -- you're going to see a lot more for sale than other guns.

... though there's no way in hell I'm gonna be selling mine. ;)

Fad? Nope.

Glock has established itself in the market & it will not be disappearing anytime soon. Glocks are more of a trend setter than a fad.

Yes, they are a fad like cars are a fad.

Until someone finds something substantially better that fills that particular niche, they will be around.

So anyway, about the H&K USP. . . :D

Settle down Glockers, I'm only kidding!

No way Glocks are a fad.
I have a Glock 26 for sale on the board right now. It's been a great little pistol. I completely intend to buy either a G29 or a G30 very soon to replace it. With so many delicious flavors of Glocks out there, I decided I needed a change.

Many folks own Glock handguns. Many folks are hurting in todays economy. Some of those folks are selling handguns, many of them Glocks, to get some cash together.

How does this equal a fad?

Something tells me this thread is going to get lots of posts.

When Glocks sell new at a pace of one to one over all it primary competitors combined. That's a lot of Glocks in the market and there is bound to be a large resale market. Glock has created a trend that is going to be around for a very long time.

Don't think so and not for me anyway!
I'm new to handguns and my 34 is the first one I own. Since August this year, I have shot at least 1000 rounds with it and had ONE misfire and zero jams!
Shot both Beretta 92 Brigadea, 92 FS and Pardini 9 before that and they all had some sort of problem. Apart from that, the Pardini was d*mn accurate and had a great trigger!

Of course Glocks are a fad! Duh! Just like 1911s are a fad!!! They will remain fads as long as they are useful. At one time Kentucky rifles were a fad as well.

Ooof! Lots of hurt feelings out there! Perhaps it isn't a fad afterall. Ah, I know what it is now. Winter's coming and who in their right mind wants to play with a squirtgun when it's cold outside.

Fads are found within a single decade and usually last no more than a couple years.

Does that sound like Glock is a fad to you?
