Saw on www.nra.org that Glock might follow smith&wesson.. Here we go the snowball effect!![/quote]
I’ll be faxing and e-mailing Glock tomorrow in an attempt to persuade them to not capitulate. They do a lot of government work, so they may be between a rock and a hard place. IF they must sign an agreement to do business, we want them to grant more reasonable terms then S&W. We want to let them know that HUD may not be able to “give” the contracts it promised to S&W (competitive bidding is required…low bid gets the contract…if there is preferential treatment, it can be taken to court). I’m also going to ask that any agreement carry the stipulation that a national reciprocity law must be passed and signed (that would make Glock heroes to us, wouldn’t it…national reciprocity would put pressure on those states that don’t allow their citizens to carry, don’t you think?).
This came from the NRA site:
Gun owners may wish to contact the companies interviewed by USA Today and urge them to hold firm: Glock, Inc., 6000 Highlands Parkway, Smyrna, GA 30082, (770) 432-1202, Fax
770) 433-8719 and Browning, One Browning Place, Morgan, UT 84050, (515) 623-5401, Fax
515) 623-3896.
I also request you call your congressman or woman and protest this intrusion on congressional authority. Ask them for an immediate bill the would forbid HUD from carrying out it's coersion (uh...agreement).
Also, call Bob Barr (R, GA and John Dingle (D,MI)...these guys will help us...both are NRA. You don't have to live in Georgia or Michigan to voice your support to them. Both have helped we Pro 2nd Amendment folks quite a bit... They deserve our support.
As I mentioned, contracts are to be let on a competitive bid process...Cuomo and Clinton will be gone (probably in jail) in 10 months.
If GeeDubya gets in, he'll put his on man in HUD.
