Glock slide to frame fit

Hey guys, I just picked up a new G19, love the gun but I noticed some play in the slide to frame fit near the front of the gun. Is this normal for Glocks?

And M&P's. And Kahrs.

A friend of a friend had bought a Glock 27, we showed him how to field strip and reassemble. Afterwards he held it up and said, "uh oh, now i can see daylight through it , I don't think it was like that before!"

Gaps everywhere on these dang plastic pistols. Seeing a gap is actually because the frame rails are provided by 2 blocks spaced apart, so no "groove and tongue" type of overlap between the slide and frame apart from those two blocks. And being cheap means use only as much plastic as necessary.

hurrr hurrr it's recycled mild bottles and a gernade

Slide to frame fit is loose for reliability. You actually will find as much, if not more slide to frame play on a USGI M1911A1. I don't know what this guy wants with "tounge in groove" frame rails, that works great for my custom kitchen cabinetry, but a little grime will lock it up in a handgun if you remove the tolerances that contribute to slide/frame play.

Barrel to slide fit, while in lockup positions, is what determines mechanical consistency.

Your G19 is more accurate than you are, and more accurate than the folks looking for sunlight though the gun are too.

"castinets and rattles"

Rest assured, accuracy somehow does just fine. If you can believe the gun mags, the polymer service pistols can get around 4 inches at 25 yards with the right premium ammo bench rested. IF you believe them that is.

I believe it because I've seen it. Barrel to slide lockup is where accuracy comes from not nearly so with the slide to frame fit.

Slide to frame fit isn't all that great in a lot of guns -- so the condition isn't unique to Glocks.

Accuracy in AIMED FIRE comes from consistent barrel to slide fit...

Most semi-auto's will have that side to side play in the front and the back, even high-dollar guns. If you want it gone, get a CZ75b I've never known a factory pistol lock up like the 75b.
