Glock Recoil Bar?

Hi All. I was cleaning my G17 yesterday and noticed that the bar flexes a little when installed to the slide. Is this normal or something that wears out? No idea of round count as I bought it used, but has never had any malfunction with my 1000 or so rounds through it. Thank you.

Which part do you mean? The recoil spring guide (inside of the recoil spring), or another part? If it's the recoil spring guide, this is perfectly normal, and the part doesn't need any great strength to begin with, but some people swap them out with a heavier guide to put a little more weight forward in the pistol.

The factory one should last you thousands of rounds. Some change them out after 5000 or so. If you start to get some feed failures or if you run hot ammo you might want to keep a spare one around. Stick with factory parts.
Just my .02 cents worth.

Mike
