Glock Receiver Only

Who would I have my FFL contact to obtain a new or reconditioned Glock frame with all internal parts (no upper)? Glock in Smyrna, or is there a distributor from which they can be obtained. How much should one cost?

My understanding is that Glock will not ship a frame by itself, but will fit one to an existing slide assembly for $88.

You send the slide assembly, and a copy of your dealer's FFL, to Smyrna, they send the slide and frame back to your local dealer.

I haven't done this myself so it's only hear-say at this time, but lots of folks report having done it to get a frame to go with their .22 conversions. I just sold off the upper and magazines from a Glock model 22 and kept the frame for this same purpose.

Thank you for your responses. I understand the correct legal method for purchasing a firearm. I understand that a receiver is legally considered a firearm. Any such transactions in which I engage will be done through a federally licensed dealer. The question was where I would have him get one. If Glock will only supply one to those who already have the upper, then I guess I am SOL. :( I was thinking of putting an aftermarket upper on one from the get-go, just as sort of a 'project', or experiement that could be done a piece at a time without laying out $500 all at once.

I will have my FFL look into it. One dealer I know, did, at one time, have a factory reconditioned Glocks which was virtually indistinguishable from new as far as condition goes, maybe that's an option. Thanks again.

I don't know where the $88 price came from but sorry, it is incorrect.

Glock will "fit" a receiver to your upper for $150.00 + shipping back to your FFL. They require the upper so they can test the finished gun for liability reasons. This is the only way they will do it.

The frame serial # will NOT match the upper #.

I and two others that I know have had this done with 24C uppers. They will also include a new box for your finished gun.

It comes back to you looking like you purchased a new, complete gun.

Glockmeister was requiring your old frame stay with them to be turned in. Turned in where, I don't know? I don't know what their current policy is. I tend to stay away from GM any more.

Now, if you already have a Glock and want another receiver, just send the upper to them and streatch the truth some and say that you purchased it (the upper) at a gun show or from another shooter and want it to be a complete gun. You will now have your spare frame for $150.00 + shipping and the FFL transfer. You have to decide if it's a good deal for you.
;)

9x19,

I wish it had been $88 instead of $150. :D

However, it's still not a bad deal. My 24C only cost me $409.00.

I want to make it clear that I am not trying to do anything illegal or unethical here.

What started my thinking about this whole idea was, I am getting that urge to buy something, and since I don't have a lot of money to play with, I thought , 'hey, why don't I buy a frame (legally, through an FFL, just like buying a firearm), and maybe put my choice of upper on it (.22 conv kit, Caspian, Lone wolf barrel, or whatever, etc.) a piece at a time without laying out a lot of money at once.' Guess it was a dumb idea anyway. Would have more money in it than just buying a whole gun, and it might not work as well.

I think I'll just save up another $575, go to my FFL and order another Glock, complete with tritium. Hmmmm, maybe a 19 this time . . ., yeah, that's it!:D:

Thanks again for your responses.

I don't think anyone was saying that....

10CFR, check out glockmeister and see if he sells recievers. That's it. Nobody's saying you're going to make a machine gun, so why the need to put a disclaimer on it? Lot's of guys buy frames for 1911's all the time. I don't think Glockers should be any different. I saw a Glock race gun recently, and I must say, it looked cool with the really long slide that was polished, and had an funneled mag well. .22 conversions are fun. now if they only made carbine uppers...;)

I started that craze over at GT. I was also one of the first field testers for Steve at Advantage Arms for the AACKs for the Glock. Great product.

$250 for the AACK and $150 for the reciever. When was the last time you bought a Glock for $400 with a lifetime warranty? It's a deal if you like shooting .22lr, like a .22lr trainer or want to have a breather from reloading like me.

I bought a second generation non finger grooved receiver from Glock with an FFL for $46.70 for my .22lr AACK for a G19 frame about a year ago. Got tired of swapping slides.

After a good 30-40 people from GT started doing the same thing, Glock bumped the price to $80 something for the second gens and then asked $150something for their third gen finger grooved receivers.

Go to Glock direct with your FFL papers and a check but call for the exact amount but it will still take a couple of weeks. I have the letter posted on GT just search for AACK there.

Buy the second gen frame and just buy a Hogue Handall if you like grooves like me.

Rabbit hunting has never been the same with a Glock .22lr. Love mine. But get a frame for it permanent.
