Glock ramp hang up question

Hey Guys:

I previously owned a Glock 41 that commonly had cartridges hang up on the bottom of the ramp. The gun initially ran fine for hundreds of rounds. This happened across all magazines and brands of FMJ ammo I used. I don't have an exact picture, but it looked like the attached.

I never really looked into why it was happening (I chose to just get rid of it instead), but was wondering if you guys had any ideas. I'm assuming the extractor tension was off.

Thanks,

Shed

front lips of the magazine holding the case too low? The follower is slanted forward?
I inspected the mags and didn't see anything wrong with them. Since the gun was running fine for a while and then started FTF across multiple mags I was guessing it wasn't that; maybe a bad batch of mags though.

The things that normally cause the case to not feed up the ramp is too long a cartridge OAL and magazine problems. You might also check for wear on the mag and mag retainer.

A mere few hundreds of rounds shouldn't be enough wear and tear to cause malfunctions.
But it is enough to tell if there's something wrong with the gun.
Inspecting the extractor is as good a place to start as any.
How many hundreds of rounds have gone through it since new?
Has anything been done to this pistol?
Gunsmithing?
Disassembly?
Have you tried the ammo in any other pistol?
It's not one of those .45 Gaps, is it?
Just fishing.

It probably had around 400-500 before the malfunctions began. Didn't do anything beyond a field strip on it. Not a .45 GAP (I have too much self respect to do that to myself). Never had any problem with the ammo in my XDS or XDm (blazer & Winchester).

Shed,
That gun is hardly broke in!
I am going to recommend that you call for a warranty repair. Don't do anything that might void your warranty and let the factory fix it.

I think of magazine problems when I hear about feeding problems with a service pistol using different brands of what I assume is factory FMJ .45ACP ammo, and the pistol in question is typically a 100% reliable feeder, my own Gen4 G21 feeds everything Ive ever loaded it with, including a lot of cheap TulAmmo steel case ammo, and aluminum case ammo. So I think the magazines should be the first order of troubleshooting the problem. The extractor tension shouldn't be an issue in a G41 with a low round count, unless somebody had been messing with it. If you still had this pistol, I'd try a hundred rounds through a single known good magazine, or I'd go buy another new factory magazine

You didn't say if the extractor was investigated.
A good cleaning might cure it.
Any buildup of crud can cause grief.
Not so much a lack of tension as just not being able to have a full range of motion.
A few hundred rounds of dirty ammo or packing grease from the factory can do it.
Just a guess, but easy to fix if that's it.
Ditto for the insides of the magazines, too.

Any time you have feeding issue note the magazine and mark it to confirm if it's Magazine or gun causing the problem. For future reference of course.

Extractor can cause issues but usually it will have varying malfunctions like stovepipes.

My gue4ss is the second round down from the top was being drug to far forward and catching on the bottom lip of the ramp. But without a pic or being there it's all I can guess.
