Glock question?

My wife got me a new glock 21sf gen 3 for Christmas. I noticed that the serial number on the frame matches the number on the slide and box. The barrel has a different number. Is this normal? My g19 all match.

Don't know the answer to your question. But I looked at my 2 week old Glock 19 gen 4 and the serial #'s are all the same for all "four" places. .
"Something stinks in Denmark".

The numbers should all be the same. It wouldn't be unusual for a used gun to have the barrel swapped, but this isn't right on a new gun. BUt at the same time, it probably won't hurt anything either

Someone switched barrels.

My G19 all matches too.

It's the number on the frame that matters. I wouldn't worry about it.

The slide and frame serial numbers are different on my Glock 21.... But that's because I broke the frame and Glock gave me a new one, and the barrel is from 460 Rowland, hence the frame breaking.

The previous shop I worked at once got in a factory new Glock with different serial numbers on the slide and frame. It's possible the slide got switched at the distributor, buy I highly doubt it. My guess is there was a factory mix-up of some kind.

If your barrel serial number doesn't match, it's not a problem at all unless there's actually something wrong with the barrel. To me that's the only real worry: Maybe someone swapped it out with an older and/or defective barrel for some reason.

A used or 'Pre-Owned' Glock?
While the different barrel is not a function issue and is nothing to worry over. My WAG would be the gun had an aftermarket rifled barrel and when traded in either the previous owner or the FFL put an in stock Glock barrel

Again, if the barrel# doesn't match the frame#......it's been switched.
While that alone doesn't affect function or safety it makes me wonder what other parts were switched.

If you ever go to try and sell that Glock it will not bring as much as a matching#'s gun.

Contact Glock and see if that gun was ever returned for repair or replacement.

Will the gun work properly? Yes.

Is it legal? Yes.

Will you get in trouble? No.

The only place the serial number needs to match your paperwork is the frame.

The rest can be totally different.

I agree with Brit, contact Glock something is wrong.

Someone mentioned it being worth less because the barrel number doesnt match, i disagree, these are not collector guns and will never be, a person going to buy a used glock will not give a darn about the barrel not being original
