Glock post-ban mags.

Will the +2 round Scherer extentions work with post ban mags? I know this would be illegal to install... but the info I seek is educational only ;)

The G27 mag ext will work on G26 and give an 11 and sometimes 12 mag capacity for amusement only of course.

If one uses a .40 cal mag in a 9mm pistol, exactly what law is being violated? And if the law is being violated, and the ATF are aware of this, as I'm sure they are, why have they not made a ruling or required that the guns or magazines be modified to prevent this illegal practice? Is that 10 round .40 cal magazine that holds 12 or 14 rounds of 9mm considered a high capacity ammunition feeding device? What gives? Have ATF ruled on this?

Cypselus,

I'm not aware of any ruling on the legality of 40SW mags in a 9mm pistol. I don't want to be the test case, however. Do you?

So many pistols, so little money.

All legal issues aside...Glock does not reccomend that it be done, as they say it can affect reliability. It seems as though the magazine spring is not quite long enough for reliable feeding. I know guys who have done it (for educational and demonstrative purposes only) and have had no problems, but Glock claims it is voo-doo.

I put the +2 extensions on my old G29 "10" round magazines, and it worked great. No reliability problems whatsoever. I would recommend it. The reason I put the 10 in quotes is because the mags would only take 9 realistically. But 9 rounds of 10mm is still the poop!

Cypselus - This is not using a 40 mag in a 9mm pistol. This is putting a 40 mag extension on a 9mm mag for the purpose of increasing capacity greater than the normal post ban limit of 10rds. The 40 mag in question only normally holds 9rds. The mag ext increases that to 10rds. It has been found however that you can use this same mag ext on a 9mm 10rd mag to increase capacity to 11 and sometimes 12rds and function will be OK. This is what is in violation of fed law.

Altering a post 1994 civilian magazine to hold more than ten rounds of ammunition is illegal. This is a case of eleven getting you ten.

Tom B, I know that wasn't the question. It was mine in response to your earlier reference to the practice of using .40 mags in 9mms. In other words, thread drift. Perhaps I should start a new thread.

O K,

They will work with the 26, 27 and 33 mags. No go with clinton reduce capacity mags such as the m17.

Can anyone else confirm what has been said above...?

That is, G27 .40 cal mags being able to fit in a G26. Furthermore that these G27 mags can accomodate (THEORETICALLY) more then 10 rounds of 9mm (how many?) and that they will feed reliably?

Just curious.
