Glock police trade-in sellers

I'm having a hell of a time choosing my next pistol.
I've been looking at a Glock 19, Glock 26, Taurus PT111-G2, Steyr M9A1, Grand Power P1-Mk12.
I've been looking for Glock 19 police trade-in a but can't find anything. I've checked recoilgunworks, aimsurplus, buds.
Any other recommendations on used Glocks? I've checked GunBroker but a lot of the SD listings I'm seeing for Glocks are the same or more expensive than new ones.

Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.

Yeah, I mentioned in the OP, that I checked re recoilgunworks, aimsurplus and buds. Most just 40's available since everyone is getting rid of them.
I'm in Lake county Illinois (Far N/E corner of IL between Chicago and Milwaukee).

Have you checked any local shops in your vicinity? With departments moving to Gen 4s, M&Ps, and other guns, they might not be too hard to find.

I picked up an excellent police trade-in Gen 3 G19 not to long ago. It even have the NY1 trigger spring unit (which was quickly replaced with a standard spring).

Also sign up for email alerts from aimsurplus.com. They occasionally have 9mm trade-in Glocks.

High commercial demand keeps G19 trade-ins scarce and relatively expensive compared to many other trade-in Glocks. You have to be patient and be ready to act quickly when they appear.

Keep in mind that many LE departments have recently been moving back to 9mm after using .40/.45 for some time; consequently, the 9mm guns are the new ones they're using now, while the .40s and .45s are the guns that were traded in. That's why there are more G21/22/23 trade-ins in the current pipeline than G17/19s.

Get on the mailing lists for the companies you mentioned along with classic firearms, J&G, etc. What you're looking for is not something that these companies keep in stock at all times. There are times when the market is flooded but usually it's just a matter of waiting.

Grand Power P1 MK12

Budsgunshop do have them listed inside the Bersa mfg, several models in 9mm. I got my P11 MK12 from them last year, very satisfied with it.:)

Out here in Denver, CO new or used G-19's sell like crazy, the 15rd mag cap limit law here makes the 19 a hot commodity and forces you to take 10rd mags for the 17 or 34, so these seem to be either unavailable or they rot on the shelves. I thought I overpaid for the Gen3 19 I recently got at a Cabelas out here, but with the low fee for the background check (I think it was $6.00) it wasn't so bad.

Consider a 23

If it appeals to you it's really easy to install a 9mm barrel in a G23. I also hear you can go .357 Sig, with just a barrel switch.
An aftermarket barrel is about a 100 bucks. I would match up the correct mag for caliber when used in a self defense role. Have read that the .40 mags work fine for 9mm, I would only use them on the range.
The 23 and the 19 are the exact same size. If having two calibers in one pistol is appealing, it's a great option.

Thanks for the replies guys. I checked local stores but I'm not a big fan of the local places near me. I will continue to check the websites I've been checking (Buds, JG, Recoil, aim, etc)

I saw some new Glock 19 Talk with AmeriGlo night sights for $530 shipped. I'm considering that.
The S&W M&P9c is on sale for $399 at a couple places
I found a Steyr M9-A1 grey market (PW Arms import) for only $350.

Tough choices.

GorillaP, check your messages. I just sent a link for a new glock 19 3rd gen for $440 plus shipping.

I agree, if I had to do it over again I would of gotten a G23 and bought the extra 9mm and 357sig barrels. Then you got options at you disposal if ammo ever gets scarce again. G19 is a fine weapon and do enjoy it alot.

It's been a long time since I lived in northern IL but I still have family there. I believe GAT (Guns Archery Tackle) in Dundee still has a good reputation. A little farther away, there is a gun store in Marengo that is supposed to be good. I'd start by calling both before driving.

Thanks, I appreciate it. I've seen a few in that range, but when you can get a new G19 Gen4 shipped for 500, a lot of the used prices don't make sense. I see a lot of people listing their used G3s for more than a new G4 (470-600)

I actually just looked again and am seeing some good Glock prices listed on wikiarms, lower than yesterday.
