Glock or Sig, which handles the recoil of the 357sig better?

long shot

I would like to know how the pistols compare as far as dampening the 357 sig's recoil, & which pistol seems to be the most controllable in this caliber.

The guns I'm interested in, Glock 31/32 & Sig 226/229/239.

I already plan to get the Steyr M357 when it's released, but I like variety.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance...long shot!

I own a 229 in .357 SIG, and it is a pleasure to shoot, compared to my friend's G32. Even my 239 .357 doesnt have as much percieved recoil as the Glock. But then I have Hogue grips on both so that may lessen the felt recoil.
That said, I would not consider the G32 to have punishing recoil, but I definitely noticed it more than my SIGs. The Glock's recoil felt sharper.

about three weeks ago, i had the opportunity to compare my sig 2340 with my friends glock 32. the glock 32 was the first gun i ever shot, and really got me interested in guns, but when i had the opportunity to shoot it alongside my sig, there was no comparison...the sig just felt like a much higher quality gun. it was smoother, easier on the recoil, and just a lot more comfortable. it's like the difference between riding in a honda and a lexus. i'm just glad i went with the sig!

In my opinion Sig pistols (especially p229) is the perfect platform for the .357 sig catridge.

I've shot a G33 and a Sig P229, side by side, both nice guns but the G33 felt like a sharp kick but manageable if you get used to it. In P229, I fell in love with the 357sig cartridge, it handled the recoil beautifully, felt like a nice even push backwards, very controllable. I was also damm accurate with it.

Good luck on your choice,

I have not shot the clock in .357 sig. But I know my Sig 226 in .357 has about the same recoil as my Barretta 92FS in 9MM. SO it is not bad at all.

I'm looking at a 357sig ina H&K compact. I owned one of thier 45's [varaint #1] = excellent.

Having a hard time finding one, the search continues.

Get a 229 sport. Recoil is trivial with the gun, and accuracy is spectacular. I have found mine to be amazingly precise and easy to shoot. I would liken the recoil to target loads out of a 6" barrel 38 special. Less recoil then a 9mm.
