hey guys i have been thinking about getting some maritime spring cups or just making grooves in my OEM spring cups and that got me thinking about my sights getting wet i have glock OEM night sights and they work great but i really want to be able to shoot underwater.it probably sounds stupid asking this but should i get the maritime sping cups and if i do will me fully submerging my gun hurt the tritium in my night sights?

but i really want to be able to shoot underwater.

Well, there's folk that shoot 'em under water in swimming pools and post the proof on YouTube...you'll be pleased to know I keep my opinions about this activity to myself.

The night sights will be fine underwater...

But don't do a poll about the issue (or even take my advice), contact the manufacturer and get the straight answer.

The night sights will be fine. The shooting underwater on the other hand.......... I saw it once on youtube and once on a 3 Stooges episode. The two videos were comparable as far as how seriously I took them.

haha thanks guys ive seen some idiots shooting through there bathtubs and stuff like that and just so you know i know alot better that that lol the bullet still travels out of the gun with a decent amount of energy a guy on youtube did it and it looked pretty cool you should look it up its called twang and bang and just put maritime spring cups before it but yeah okay thanks guys but just to make sure you guys are absolutely positive that they will be fine FULLY SUBMERGED ? lol just dont wanna have to buy knew ones

Yes. Think about it this way: Night sights use tritium gas that is stored inside small tubes. If those tubes can keep the gas from escaping, they sure as heck can keep water from getting in.

thanks theohazard that makes alot of sense i new that the tritium was held in tubes but i just wanted to make sure that it wouldnt hurt them to be fully submerged for an extended amount of time i really appreciate all of you guys putting in your 2 cents it helped alot i think im going to get the maritime spring cups just because lol

If you live in gator country, shooting underwater might one day be a neccessity...
kinda like a fire extinguisher...ya hope you never need it...but its nice to have :)
