Glock model 40 caliber conversion- help wanted

Ok this is is going sound confusing. Glock is soon releasing their long slide 10mm, the glock 40. (I swear, there trying to confuse people). Now I am no glockophile but I have long wanted a 10mm and glock makes the only affordable/durable one. The question for you gentleman is thus: how easy would it be to convert this 10mm model 40 to 40 s and w, which I already shoot in bulk and reload for? What about magazine compatibility? Also who makes a good fully adjustable sIght for these guns. Bear in mind glock are not my specialty. Thank you in advance

You will need to wait for an aftermarket barrel to be made... Lone wolf or someone else.

The 40 may feed from the 10mm mags.

Im not caught up on converting the 10mm as I don't shoot it, so hopefully some others will pipe in.

The glock forums may have info on converting the other 10mm models, and the info should carry over.

Plenty of aftermarket barrels already available for this set up. I just shoot .40 sw in my 6" 10mm lonewolf tube. 10mm mags feed the .40 with no issue.

The focus on me trying to show it was a .40 casing wasn't focusing. But scouts honor they were all .40 rounds being shot.

Dawson Precision makes nice rear fully adjustable sight for Glock (I think they have plain black, FO, and night sight options).
I have a DP fully adjustable plain black rear and DP FO front on my G34. I like it a lot.

The Longslide Glock 40 will require a specific length barrel,
if the 40 is compatable with the 20/20sf, you could simply slap a LW 9" on it.
Give 'em 6 months or so and there will be specific length barrels for it...

One always has to wait for the Aftermarket to catch up.

NOTE: The 40 might not be a drop-in barrel swap using a 20/20sf barrel...
Glock does change things occasionally...
someone does need to check on that...Hey Lone Wolf!!!

I dont mean to knock on the eaa, as I have not had any actual expierience with them, but I've heard about durability problems with full power loads and spotty quality control. A shame since I love cz designs. But with the glock at the same price point and a much more established rep, why not?

"I'm surprised that no EAA / Tanfoglio Witness fans have disputed this statement yet."

One of my first guns was a EAA Match Witness in 10mm. I even got it with a 6" hunting barrel. And it choked 3-4 rounds every mag, even after a visit to the factory. It was a total disappointment.

Another option, although more cost, would be to assemble your own longslide from a G20 and aftermarket slide and barrel. This has been done by a good number of shooters and it provides you with a full-size full-frame 10mm in a 'conventional' length, and the longslide option when you want it. It would be considerably more money, but you would essentially have the option then for 4 guns--two in 10mm and two in 40SW (the G20 and the G20 LS). Obviously you don't ever have to get conversion barrels for both configurations and don't have to get them all at the same time. Just options, that's all.

I'm not sure how many G40s have surfaced in the last month but I don't see them available anywhere...plus I personally wouldn't want to be part of their beta test team for the first 500 out of the gate anyway. To assume it's reliable when virtually none have hit the street is a bit hopeful, I think.
