Glock G27 break-in>>>

Rainbow Six

New member
I took my new back-up gun to the range today to put 150 rounds through it to verify the usual Glock out of the box reliability and was not disappointed. :) I put 150 rounds of Georgia Arms 155gr FMJ through it. This little thing is VERY accurate! It's been a long time since I owned or shot a "baby" Glock so I will have to work on grip, recoil control and such to improve 25 yard groups but here's a sample of my 7 yard results today. 10 rounds, two handed grip with Pierce +1 extension. FWIW I shot the same size groups with the other mag (no extension).

This little baby ROCKS! :D

congrats on the new addition. I have one, been trying to make myself get trijicons on it. Great choice.

Great gun

I have the Glock 26, and it too is a tackdriver. I think you made a great choice buying the Glock 27.

I also have both the 26 & 27, they are my favorites. As soon as I put one in my hand, I knew it was the one! I have ordered 2 new mags from Glockmeister with the Pierce +1 for the 27.

Congrats,

I've owned two G27's and unfortunately don't own one at the present, but the two I have owned were extemely accurate. I've had more than one shooter at the range make the mistake of challenging me to a shoot off with my "baby pistol" vs their full size weapon. "Gee..whatch gonna shoot with that little thing?"..Kimmere and lemme show ya!

I don't drink beer, but I've won a lot of free sodas at the range!:D

Good Shooting

I'd definitely put this little rocket up against any full size Glock at our department shot for shot with an ice cold Coca Cola to the winner! I rarely drink alcoholic beverages myself. :D

Wouldn't it be a hoot if I actually ended up shooting my first ever perfect 100 Q-score with it next month! I've never shot a perfect score with any Glock. Always in the 90's, usually 98 - 99% but NEVER A STINKIN' 100! :(

It looks like there may be something wrong with that Glock. That group should have been smaller. Send the gun to me and I will shoot...er...test the gun extensively to be sure that everything is working properly.;) :D

blades67,

Ya think? :D

FLA Deputy,

I think the groups I shot with the G27 are the best groups I've ever shot with a Glock. I don't know if my shooting is improving that much or I just got a sweet shooting Glock. ;)

Rainbow Six..

You just might get that perfect score. I've had my G27 for almost three years and it's never even stumbled once.
The first time I fired it, the bullet went into the "X" ring. I almost dropped my teeth. A very accurate pistol indeed.
The finish on your's looks to be slicker than mine. I reckon that's the "new finish" I've read posts about.

I wish I could shoot that kind of group with my G19c, or any other gun I own..... I am sure it is a problem with the shooter and not the gun in my case. :(

My G27 shot that way out of the box too. In fact, the only improvements needed to make it hands-down the best all around pistol on earth are Trijicons and aftermarket (larger) slide and magazine releases. I HIGHLY recommend putting in larger slide and mag releases - the work is simple and can be done yourself, and they increase the functionality of the respective parts 1000%!

maxinquaye,

While I agree that it needs replacement sights I have to disagree with the slide stop lever for my purposes. I don't use the lever to drop the slide, I use the slingshot method. It's much more reliable under stress than depending on the dexterity of a single thumb to operate even an extended slide stop lever, in my opinion. Also, I have never had a problem with Glock factory mag releases. :)

Hrm, well, different strokes for different folks...
I had the darndest time dropping the mag out of my 27 when I first got it. Installed an aftermarket release that sticks out a good 3/16th of an inch further...works immeasurably better for me. Has a slight tendancy to snag, but it's a price I'm willing to pay.
As far as slide release, I have always used the release...once again, I had a lot of trouble with the stock Glock one. Maybe my thumbs are too big or something, but I could not get a decent grip on the one the gun shipped with. New one cost about $4, works every time now :)

I have a G26 and I am having trouble getting the accuracy you all are getting. Could it be my glock stock sites? Or maybe I am not giving it enough finger on the trigger pull but I am always hitting toward the left upper quadrant on the target... with a few center shots. Never getting any ragged little center holes...

I am sure with time i will get better but i want to correct my mistakes now...

Good Shooting!!

Last week my first shot with my NIB G27 was a "dead nuts" bullseye.... needless to say, I saved the target. Tuesday, I will go to the range and shoot my NIB G30 for the first time.... can I be as fortunate? I think the G27 is one of the finest shooting weapons I have every shot... and I shot it last week WITHOUT the mag extention, which I had never done on the rentals....

geE126,

Could it be my glock stock sites?

If your sight alignment is correct and you have a good combination of both weapon and ammo, you will have a very nice group on your target. If you are always hitting towards the upper left quadrant, try drifting your rear sight a bit. Stock fixed sights won't allow for elevation adjustment but will allow you to drift the rear sight in its dovetail to adjust for windage.

Even Rainbow's target group is slightly upper left..:D
It isn't perfectly centered, but at that distance, who cares?

Also try switching ammo types. Even though Glocks aren't known to be "ammo sensitive" they do have their preferences when it comes to wringing out the most in the accuracy department.

Good Shooting

I'm so jealous! I want SO BADLY to be able to tolerate the way the Mini-Glocks feel in my hand. Even with that Pearce grip on it, it feels like it's going to slip right out of my hand. If it wasn't for that Patented Glock "hump" on the back

Anyway, if you guys keep bragging, I may have to try again to overcome my grip issues! Hey, if I do buy a Glock, will that make me shoot like R6? ;)

Actually, Red, the group isn't high and left. I was using the lowest point of the BG's curled finger as an aiming reference. I couldn't see the faint "X" from where I was. I was trying for a small group, not a centered X-ring group. The group is POI. Sorry to burst your bubble. :D
