Glock Delays?

I have a Glock on order, and am being told that Glock is busy filling 2 government contracts and is not shipping out any guns to their distributors/dealers right now. How long is this delay supposed to last? I would like to hold out for the gun, because it is a great price. However, over the Christmas holidays, I will be out of town for a month and won't be near my dealer to complete the transfer. This is getting frustrating, I hople things will get rolling soon. Anyone else heard about this delay?

Thanks.

Damn that mean old government...if they ain't screwing you one way they're screwing you another.

;)

I will add, I would like the Glock because of the price... But won't cry if I have to get my money back. Being away for a month will kill any chance to complete the transfer. Plus, for that month, I will be on 20+ acres with plenty of places to shoot :D If I can't get the Glock, I think I'm gonna throw in some more money and get a Kimber, possibly a Custom Eclipse II or Pro Eclipse II.

Sorry no solid info, can just add to the rumor mill of why Glocks are getting tough to find now.

1. Big police/government/millitary (not ours) contract.

2. New computer system at Smyrna put Glock back at least two weeks (just before Sept 11th)

3. Just that 9-11 caused a great surge in sales.

Not sure which if any are true, but Glocks are still scarce in my area

There are a couple hundred Glock pistols for sale on GunsAmerica.com and many by dealers who most likely have more than one pistol in stock. Many are at prices that seem to be fair and competitive.

Take a look if you haven't already. You may just find what your looking for right now instead of waiting. ;)

CONFUSED

Why would anyone wait for a Glock? Generic models, available EVERYWHERE (and if not physically in front of you certainly all over the 'net).

Not like they come optioned up............

Did you order something special?

A friend of mine wanted a glock 22 or 23. My dealer could not find any. I talked with a guy from topglock and he said the FBI got all of the 40's. He estimated the delay at 4-6 weeks before they could get any to sell. Honest, I was checking for a friend:D

You might try calling Scheel's All Sports in Fargo N.D. 701-298-2918. Plenty of plastic guns on hand but they don't give em away.

Not reading all of the text, just the bold listings, there is a total of 43 G22, 22C, 23 and 23C pistols for sale on GunsAmerica.com at this very moment.

I'm sure many of the dealers listed have more than one of each gun in stock.

Sometimes one has just got to get out more and shop. :D

Every time I go to my local gun shop it seems there are more people, and a lot of them are getting Glocks.
They never seem to run out though, got 'em all in stock.
