Would anyone know where I could get directions how to complete take apart my Glock 26. I have seen books and movies I can buy but I am sure there is somewhere on the web where it is published freely.

Thank You

Glock disassembly

Unless you are a certified gunsmith or glock armorer you should fieldstrip your glock only enough to clean, not completely take the gun apart. If you want a detailed cleaning then either send it in to glock of find a certified armorer.

I think it depends on how courageous you are. I have a video from gunvideo.com (McGill's) that goes through the process but I admit I have, so far, only field-stripped my Glocks to clean them. At some point in the next thousand rounds I'll have to decide how much sense a total disassembly makes.

btw...

1) As with any total disassembly, be CERTAIN of the orientation of the parts as you remove them.

2) just about anything can be substituted for the 'Glock disassembly tool." I used a pin punch at first - now I just use the smallest screwdriver on my Leatherman Wave. Virtually anything that is roughly the same diameter as the pins will work.

3) There is a LOT of knowledge related to reassembly both here and on glocktalk.com. If you get stuck, you should have the answer to your question within half an hour.

Take comfort in knowing that the Glock is probably the simplest pistol on the market to dissasemble and reassemble. It has, if I remember correctly, only 23 parts including springs and pins and the only tool required is a stiff piece of wire like a paperclip.

Don't believe the fluff about Glock certified armorers. A trained monkey could take one down and put it back together. Glockmeister's instructions are fine.

I was at a class a while back, and my 23 was hanging up just out of battery. There were 2 certified Glock armorers on site. Each one took a turn. Field stripped it, blew on the internals, turned it over in their hands a couple of times, handed it back and said, "I don't know." WTF??
