The G17 was originally designed for NATO use.
It is probably the best "combat" handgun (when one looks at all the parameters: easy usage, cleaning, maintainibilty, etc.) in modern times.

You Guys are also forgetting Israeli Secret Service plus their Armed Forces are all Issued Golk 17's as one of the Pistols they can Choose.

What ever happened to the Jericho? I thought it was the standard pistol of the IDF.

So many pistols, so little money.

Places like Jordon and Malaysia, Sweden, India.

Since for most militaries these days their Browning P35's (HP's) [the most popular military sidearm ever] are worn out that are replacing them.

There is the usual collection of handguns that various militaries are adopting, But the majority of them are either getting Glock 17's or Sig P226's.

If you pick a military at random, good chance that they will have one of these two handguns or are going to purchase them.
