Glock baseplate with no "button"?

With my wife's new Glock 19 on layaway, I've been stocking up on hi-cap mags off the internet. So far, I've been pleased with all my dealings with everyone. I just have one question.

One of the mags I ordered (nfml) is different from the others. The baseplate of this mag is solid. It has no button to disassemble it. Only the "ears" hold the baseplate to the mag.

Also, on all but this one, next to the witness holes, around #12 & 13, there is another pair of holes through the polymer body of the mag, but the metal lining in the back shows. On this "odd" magazine, there are no holes, only indentions, but not all the way through the mag.

I know it's a Glock factory mag, as it says so right on the body, as well as the baseplate. Other than these two differences, it is 100% identical to all the other mags I have bought...

What's the difference all about?
Anything to worry about?
Can I just put an updated baseplate on it?

Thanks for stopping by.

It's all cool.

It's just a very, very early NFML Glock mag. If disassembled/reassembled a lot, the floorplate could become loose and easy to knock askew. Not being the type who takes magazines apart much, they don't bother me as long as the floorplate is snug. Action Pistol types, whose mags get serviced frequently and thrown around more, don't like them at all.

As Tamara said, it is a first generation mag. If it bothers you, just replace the floor plate with the retainer (part with the button) and floor plate from a 10 round mag.

Thanks for the quick response Tamara.

I figured that would be the case... it's just amazing that this mag is in the best shape of all the ones I've bought so far... it looks absolutely brand new. No scratches, no "chew" at the feedlips, etc....

I was planning on putting a +2 baseplate and Wolff springs in one of the mags... It looks like we have a volunteer!

Thanks again.

I have one just like that, and it's stamped Austria below the Glock graphic. It has been updated with the floorplate that has the hole in it.
