Glock accuracy??

Can anyone tell me what the average grouping (according to Gun Magazines) is for a Glock 35 and a Glock 22 shooting from a rest at 25 yards?

I'm trying to justify the greater accuracy of the G35 verus the extra length that I would have to deal with over the G22.

I would use this for carry, IPDA, and target shooting.

I terms of intrinsic mechanical accuracy I cannot tell you which is more accurate. Gun magazines only test one unit of a model anyway, which may not reflect on the entire production run.
In terms of human accuracy, the longer sight radius of the G35 will allow you aim more accurately and consistently.
As far as carrying, I know that large guns can be carried. You might think about methods of carry. If you will sit down while carrying, the longer barrel could get in the way.
 
The G22 is known for reliabilty and durabilty, not accuracy.
The G35 is allows you to shoot much better and has the reliability that makes glocks so popular.
I don't think the G35 is really any tighter or 'better made' than the 22, it just makes it easier to shoot better.
That's just my opinion. The gun mags all rave about the G35 for it's accuracy and ease of use in competition. I have a G34 that is very good but not great.
If you're looking to carry a .40 S&W, go for the G27 or 23. If you want to compete, get the 35. But don't expect any one gun to be really great for most missions. Yes, there are 'all around' guns that will be useful, but you are asking 'best', and no one single gun is going to be best at everything. It's all a trade off and you have to decide what is most important at any one time.

Gunzine hacks can always manage to get two inch groups, or better if their pencil is sharp that day, from almost any gun.:rolleyes:
 
Here is what I have found.

Glock 22's do around 3.5 to 4.5 inch groups for me at 25 yards.

The Glock 23 is usuall the same but the last one I fired did 2 inch groups for me and I was surprised to see the 40 do this well as it usuall does not.

Glock 17's have usuall done between 2.5 and 3.5 for me
THe 21 does around 2 to 3 inches
The 31 goes about 2 and 3 inches.

My Glock 35 can put 5 bullets within 2" at 25 meters with support and the right ammo (Yes I load my own...:D )

For another thread on the SIG forum (about the comparative accuracy of the SIG P220 .45 versus M1911 clones) I posted the following list, all .45's, from Gun Tests.

They've tested other Glocks that grouped as small as 1.7". So this doesn't answer your question directly, but it's in the ballpark. Hope this helps.
 
Full size or compact?

VVG I noticed in the test results you posted you have the Glock 36 (compact) gun compared to full size guns. Perhaps the better accuracy you list in the end of your post for a Glock came from a full size gun?

I posted what I had ready access to. The SIG P245 is a compact and did a little worse than the P220 (2.1" vs. 1.9"

I posted them mostly because you see some really, really suspect accuracy claims by owners and GT was impartial and methodical. I routinely look through the target bins at my club to see how people are shooting and 98% of them are all over the paper at 25 yards....
 
I truly believe the intrinsic accuracy of the G22 and the G35 to be equal. The longer sight radius and 3.5 pound trigger (versus the 5 pound trigger on the G22) will help with handheld accuracy. For a competition gun, however, I think either is suitable.

Based on ALL of your criteria, the G22 would be the FAR superior choice, IMO.

For the distances at which IDPA is shot, you won't notice much (if any) of a difference in accuracy.

Target shooting is target shooting. Know what I mean? I have a G19, and can get COM hits on IDPA targets out to 50 yards with it.

But for carrying around on a daily basis, I would MUCH rather have the G22 than the G35.
