Glock 42, GLOCK TRIFECTA, the last piece

A couple of days ago I acquired a Glock 42 "BABY GLOCK" to complete my Glock Trifecta. Today I put my baby to the test and she came out with flying colors! I have owned most major brand 380 autos ever made, and none of them were reliable so I have a bad taste in my mouth for the caliber. Today may be the turning point. The 42 is the most shootable of any pocket size pistols I have ever shot. So far ... it is reliable and deadeye accurate, especially so for a pocket size pistol and pocket size caliber.
Today was stormy, rainy, and humid like the rain forest of Brazil. My shooting glasses kept fogging up, but I was still able to deliver rounds on target at 7, 15, 25, and 100 yards ... and a little steel plate action in between. I shot Blazer steel casings without a hitch throughout the shoot. The little, baby-Glock shoots like a big Glock, and I got better with every round. There is no recoil whatsoever to me, but I love recoil in the first place. I hate even bringing up the word, as any mention of RECOIL, takes a mental hold on some shooters, and can ruin their shooting. It is not reasonable to have expectations of no recoil from any gun if the caliber is of such power to be effective in defensive scenarios. Like getting hit in football, slammed in wrestling, or put on the glass in hockey, it is part of the sport. I understand some folks are injured or have other physical circumstances that are affected by recoil, and if such is the case for you; this is the gun for you!
The 42 or baby Glock is the pocket pistol perfected ... it is small enough to hide and carry, and still big enough to have a decent sight radius and shoot accurately at any range! It is light, compact; a slim downed fighting gun for the concealed carry ... smaller caliber fans ... to the max! A perfect vest carry backup gun for my brothers and sisters who work the streets in blue, and a perfect companion on a dark night in places where they who walk to hurt hide in the night!

I don't love or hate glocks, just never realy wanted one. but after holding one of those in the store, its definitely the best feeling .380 pocket I've ever held. I would love to have one for CC.

update 42

ammo hard to find, but when I do the baby glock is shooting without failure so far... shoots great as well... videos to come.

The little Glock fits in my Andrew's leather pocket holster and is so easy to carry when out and about. It is light, small, and handy to carry everyday. Lovin' it! I still carry my 30s most of the time, but when smaller is better, the baby Glock gets the call for relief work.

Too small for my paws!

Love that they made this pistol, but it is just too tiny to be able to grab onto!

I need more grip to hold onto. But, I guess tiny is the idea!:)

I have big paws and it shoots great! I think I will shoot an instructional video Thursday (tomorrow) on shooting small pocket guns for grins:D

I think I love my wife's G42 more than she does:)

The Red Sox should perform as well as this little gun.\\

Really like my G42. Got mine several months ago when the gun store I worked part-time at got a shipment of exactly 1. I bought it at a deep discount and they haven't been able to get anymore since. I will be keeping this one for a long time. Eats anything I put in it so far.

I picked two up recently (both have fired casing dated in June 2014 and have the most recent upgraded parts). I put 225 rounds through one of them with only one failure to feed which was the 2nd round from the first mag.

I've had tons of guns and this is the first one that felt like it's part of my hand. It's like Glock USA molded the gun for my hand. I just couldn't believe how good the gun felt and shot (very soft). I left the range with a big smile on my face and am still raving about this gun.

Didn't have any issues with eject or slide lock. My trigger was great....no issues or complaints of a 9-10 lb trigger!!!

I know some say it's too big for a 380 ACP and that there are small 9mm avail but I've "been there done that" and didn't like any of them. The G42 is not only easily concealable for me but FUN FUN FUN to shoot at the range. Not too small, not too big. I just can't believe I now have a 380 ACP that I love.

Rounds/Ammo fired:

Winchester PDX1 Defender - 25 rounds
1st mag of 6 rounds: 2nd round did not feed. Tapped the slide and it went into battery and all rounds fired and slide stayed open after the last round.
Round 7 - 25: No malfunctions

HPR 100 gr TMJ range ammo - 50 rounds
No malfunctions

Hornady Critical Defense 90 gr FTX - 25 rounds
No malfunctions

PMC 90 gr FMJ - 50 rounds
No malfunctions

Winchester 95 gr FMJ - 50 rounds
No malfunctions - this was the only flat nose ammo I tested and it worked 100%. I have a case of it so I was glad that it worked.

Civil Liberty Defense 50 gr 1500 fps - 25 rounds
No malfunctions
WOW, THIS AMMO IS VERY VERY LIGHT

Only defensive ammo I didn't test was Precision One which I've heard good things about. I will purchase some when it's available (September I think, according to their website) and then decide what brand of defensive ammo I'm going to stock up on.

My favorite Glocks.....G34s (Gen4) and G42s

I know how you feel, as I have been disappointed by 380 auto pistols to include some of the most notable in history. My Glock 42 is the best of the best in my opine, view, or evaluation by actual use and putting rounds down range!!!:D

I sure like mine! I had a few FTE early on with cheap rounds but my 42 ate 40 rounds of Barnes/Buffalo Bore 80gr HP's no problems! This gun really feels great in my hand and nothing bad to say about!

I got a call today that mine is finally in. Apparently my LGS just got a truck full in. I got tired of waiting earlier and bought a Ruger LCP .380. I really like the Ruger except find it a little "snappy". I am anxious to pick up my new Glock tomorrow and give it a try.

Was at Bass Pro and they had bulk Winchester .380, 100 rounds for $30 and gave a 10% mil discount.
