Went to my favorite gus store today and they had a G36 in the display case. I handled it and these are my impressions:
It's thin. No, really. It seems about .40 sized. Fit my hand real well. I had my G30 on me, so I compared sizes. It is just a shade shorter than the 30 for slide length. Grip is decidedly thinner and matches the slide. I was very impressed with how tin they made it.
Downsides:
The barrel looked thin. I'd be surprised if the gun would handle the real hot loads (+P and +P+). 6+1 capacity and it will not take any other Glock mag. Last thing: price. They were asking 599 FRN.
IHMO:
I'll wait until they're common and cheap (450-500FRN) to buy one.
