Just picked up a Glock 30sf, I'm having difficulty seating the
magazine fully into gun the spring in the mag is real hard to
even load 10 rounds...I'm hoping it is a break in issue....
I have posted about this issue before but, it hasn't been resolved yet!!

Any Ideas??

THe Glock 30 is available in 9, 10, and 13-round magazine capacity models. If you are having trouble getting 10 rounds into the magazine, you may have a 9-round magazine. This would also explain why you can't get the magazine into the pistol when it is loaded with 10 rounds. Try loading 9 rounds next time and see if this takes care of the issue.

Scorch:

If you look at the side of the mag where the number
of rounds loaded shows up, it is a 10 round mag, it
seats itself but requires a firm slap to go in!!
My concern also is that when you insert the mag
and try to rack the slide and chamber a round, it is
diffucult for the slide to push the round forward due to heaviness of the
spring!!

Scorch,

Yeah its a definite idea, I called Glock and they said if the
springs don't loosen up with about 200 rounds, they would
replace the mags!!

I think I'll go that route!!

magazine issue

Sir;
In combat (or other) shooting you really need to "slap" that magazine up into the pistol to make sure you're latched - but you're having a problem getting rounds into the magazine - so as Scorch says chect your mag. If that "last round" just won't go in then it's a different magazine!

I had the same issue with mine, but after a bit of shooting it worked itself out. I think Glock is probably right, 200 was pretty close.

I have been loading and unloading the mags with different
ammo (fmj and hollowpoint) just to exercise the springs,
plus I shot 20 rounds just to see if it would help and it did!!
I shoot sometimes in my back yard, I am in a real rural setting, but
don't like to go overboard, considering the neighbors, ya know??,
so I don't shoot a lot of rounds at a time!!
It ate the 20 rounds just like it was supposed to!!

I just got a bit worried about the full mag (10 rounds) not loading initially!!

I think it's gonna be a keeper!!! Glock Perfection, right??

I have a 30SF and the mags are indeed very tight on the 10th round. I either load it with fewer rounds, or load all 10 and insert it into the gun when the slide is back. Goes right in, then. Letting the slide go under the full force of the spring takes the top round off no problem.

G30s don't come in a "13-round" model; but they will use G21 mags. :) Leave the mag loaded and it'll eventually loosen up. When I've had that problem in the past, I've filed about 1/8" off the follower legs, and that helped. I don't know if current followers even have legs.

I am keeping the mags loaded and have noticed a big improvement
the springs are getting looser!!
Should work out fine after a couple hundred rounds through them!!

Sounds like a great deal if Glock replaces it if keeps having issues after the 200 rounds use, I guess I'll need to do the same with mine as it has had some ftf, and stovepipes I think, when it will fire, but oh, maybe it's a fail to extract too. but thanks for the info guys.
