Glock 30S

I am finally doing it, I am getting a .45 ACP. I read that the 30S is similar to the Glock 19 in dimensions. I am in the market for a new CCW and I finally found a Glock in .45 that isn't brick like. How does this gun shoot? Soft recoil? Accuracy?

Very similar in size indeed. I had one and had it side by side to my 19 gen 4 and they were almost identical. Carried it iwb and didnt notice that big of a difference between it and the 19. Never shot it traded it before I got around to it but I did have a 30sf and I am sure it wouldnt be much different with the 30s.

Accuracy won't be an issue, every 30 I've ever shot was a shooter for sure. The 30S is close to the same general size as the 19 but it's still got the fat grip. It's not that bad but compared to a 19 the 30S/30SF/Gen4 30 still feels fat because they all have the same sized frame, but at least the 30S has the thinner slide.

Love my 30S, easy to carry and its a pretty good shooter. I have 2 issues with mine that somewhat annoy me, but are easy to deal with.

1. it has just a SLIGHTLY heavier trigger than my 19, 23, and 21. This only affects me if I've been shooting them and go to the 30S, I'll jerk a bit until I get used to it.

2. it pinches my pinky when shooting hotter ammo, after a few boxes it really starts to annoy me. No issues with weaker target 230 grain ball.

I added TALON rubberized grips (helps a ton with comfort) and the Vickers Tactical Extended mag release. Both of those put it up to Gen 4 comfort status for me.

Also get a good mag loader, like the UpLULA if you want that 10th round in those mags to start.

Edit: As to recoil, it jumps just a tad more than my Glock 23 and a hair less than my 21. Very pleasant to shoot IMO.

Well, I finally got my Glock 30sf and what a great gun. I find it easy to carry and it was very accurate. Recoil was vey pleasant, almost Glock 19 like. I had one FTF with some Tula ammo but ran federal ball ammo and hornAdy critical duty ammo perfect. I am now trying to decide what ammo to carry for self defense. It's shorter barrel had me worried about the already low muzzle velocity of the .45 round.

I've got a dummy gun for one and love the size of it, definitely on par with the Glock 19.

I to am waiting for a Gen 4 30s, should make a great carry gun.:D
