Glock 30 or 36

Ok I've decided to get a Glock in .45 ACP. Now I have to decide between the 30 and the 36. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I had the same choice, and I opted for the 30. It is a little thicker, but it holds 10 rounds, and fits my hand pretty da#@ good. It is a sweet shooter also and eats everything. You gotta love that!

What's the factory capacity on the 30? I understand the 36 is a single stack with magazine capacity of 6.

I say go with the flatter gun, this is a concealment piece right? Otherwise, whichever fits your hand best.

The G30 is too wide for me but sure is a sweet shooter. The g36 is much better as a carry piece IMO but will recoil more. Personal choice here.

Good Luck,
Dave

Funny thing... I have fairly small hands, but the G30 feels better, and I seem to have better control with it than the G36. However, the G36 conceals much better than the G30. One is as about accurate as the other (both excellent), but recoil is a bit snappier with the G36. Both are excellent guns, and you wouldn't go wrong with either. I still favor my G30 most of the time.

I have a G30 (I've run out of adjectives to describe out great this thing is) and am trying to locate a 36 to buy. Moral: Get one of each!

The G30 is nicer to shoot, the G36 is nicer to carry. Which is more important to you?

I carry my G30 daily, in a Sidearmor IWB Kydex holster. I have no problems concealing, and I love having 19 rounds or .45 or 11 rounds of either .45 or .400 Cor-Bon at my disposal.

As much as I love Glocks, I'd probably opt for an airweight wheelgun if I were that concerned about concealability. I might even opt for a G26 or G27.

I have 'em both, I like 'em both. The 30 is easier to shoot, the 36 is easier to conceal. Accuracy and reliability are comparable with each.

My .02, having owned and shot only the G30, is only that I'm very pleased with the G30 and can conceal it easily.

But one thing to note if you are planning a .400 corbon conversion: The G30 mags won't feed the necked cartridges reliably (I've tried it), but I suspect the inline-magged G36 converted to .400cb would feed reliably. THAT would be sweet - to pack 10mm power in something as small as the G36!!

Ok Call me crazy here. (everyone else does) But I would go with the G30. Here is my reasoning. If you want a single stack .45 then get a 1911 like the Colt Defender or a Kimber Ultra Carry. THe clock 36 is still wider than either of these and it carries fewer founds. I love glocks But with only 6 rounds I would rather stick with a proven design. Oh Glocks are proven, but not as a single stack gun. I would go with the 30 or a Small 1911. :)

kevinw is right.

G30 is proven. The G36 has had some harsh criticism lately.
