Glock 30 long term durability.

I have owned a couple in the past, and they performed well however, I really didn't put an abundance of rounds through them so, I don't know how well they fare after a few thousand rounds. Tell me you're experience with the G30's durability. By the way, I think I already know what the answer will be.

I do not have a 30 but I do have 4 Glocks and I have shot them extensively and they are no worse for wear than the day I bought them.

I have yet to see a Glock that wasn't extremely durable. I would love to see a poll or some figures on how many folks still have Glocks that are up and running vs other weapon types.

There are shooters out there who are putting .45 Super and .40 Corbon through their G-30's with no apparent accelerated wear on their weapons. If they can stand a diet of those two high intensity cartridges, the G30 should have no problems with standard or even +P ammo.

I will say that I have heard of a couple folks having problems with the takedown lever breaking after a couple thousand or so rounds over at GT.

I have a G30 with a BarSto barrel so I can shoot cast bullet reloads for practice. It has digested something over 3000 rounds ( I quit counting about then) and other than a little burnishing of the finish high points from a Kydex holster it shows no other wear.

By the way, what breaks is the slide lock spring. Glocks have no "take down lever".

All guns break. Buy lots of guns.

Gun shop commandos who incessantly discuss how their fav pistol never breaks never shoot them or they shoot them for 50 rounds every other month.

I think it is hilarious how guns only break at shooting schools. I have seen Glocks break at TR (recoil spring, trigger spring, sear), Chapman Academy (slide stop spring on a G30) and LFI courses (name it).

Is Glock a good, tough pistol? Yes. Does it have weak points? Yes as do all. Is it magic? No, it will break.

If you buy a G30 to carry, get four of them (one to carry, one in reserve, one for the gunsmith, one hidden off your property).

I love my Glock 30. It is one of the guns that I take to the range almost every time I go because i use it for my cwp and glove box. I would also have in at bedside if I had night sights. I have put a lot of rounds through and it has never flinched.

Glocks are great guns!

Around 4 or 5000 rounds through my G30 without a jam or problem. I just took it to my local Glock Armorer for a strip down, tear apart cleaning and he said it looked great and didn't notice any problems. The only thing I have changed is a extended slide stop and a 3.5lbs connector and I did that for personal reasons.

I wouldn't worry about it to much, but like some have said, all guns break.

Ahhh...thanks for the correction. For my life I couldn't remember the exact nomenclature of the part.

I've had my Glock 30 for 24 hours and 15 minutes and have not yet fired it. In spite of this it's holding up very well. :)
