Glock 30 in 45 super or 400 Corbon

Thinking of converting my G30 to one of these calibers. Does anyone have any info on what it would take to do this. I believe all I wold need is a barrel swap for 400 Corbon. Does 45 super take a barrel swap as well. I know it needs a stronger recoil spring and dedicated 45 Super cases. Any info from you all is greatly appreciated.

I've shot some super through my 21, and the brass was bulging BADLY. I was running the stock barrel and a 22lb. recoil spring and SS wolff guiderod. I've heard several others talking about shooting super through stock barrels, but this was a little to much case bulging for me. I'm sticking to 185/200 grain +P loads in .45ACP and I bought a 10mm barrel and mags for the faster stuff.

I bought a Federal extended, ported .400 Cor-Bon barrel for my G30 from JR, at Lonewolf Distributors. It works fine. One word of caution. .400 Cor-Bon won't feed reliably from double-stack mags. You have to use 10-rd. G21 mags. (They're double-stacked, but the stack angle is much narrower than the regular double-stacks.)

whoops

Go to www.acecustom45.com Garey Hindman is the son Of Ace Hindman who helped in developing the .45 Super. You can find information on the sight about what you need to convert to .45 Super. They also sell complete guns also. Hope this helps.

As a big fan of the .45 Super, I spoke with Gary Hindeman himself about this very topic.

He said that the .45 Super Tactical (A downloaded .45 Super which is essentially just a .45 +P+) is for guns like the Commander or Glock 30.

He said that no matter what you do, the Glock 30 and other small guns do not have enough slide mass to handle the cartridge, and it would never work reliably. He did not say it would blow up the gun or anything, but he said it would really beat up the gun (especially a small 1911) and it will never cycle right due to the lack of mass in the compact slide.

Those are words from the man himself, and I assume he has put a lot of time into testing this.

Go with a 10mm Glock 29 or just stick with .45 ACP +P which will do the job, if the job is human defense.
