Glock 3.5 lb. Trigger Question

I'm thinking about putting the 3.5 lb. connector in a Glock. What do you guys think about having that trigger (connector) in a Glock used for a carry gun.

I tried the 3.5 in a gun store and it actually seemed to have a longer pull and the letoff didn't seem as crisp at the 5.5 lb trigger. Is this typical?

Thanks,
Steve

My bro had one in his 17. I think it's fine for carry, tho most will probly dissagre. I think it's fine in the Glock for reasons you mentioned...it really is not much esier to pull than the 5#...just easier to keep on target with out shifting.

Most of this wont mean crud in an up close adrenaline pumped situation...but if you shoot better with it, I say go for it.

I see nothing wrong with the 3.5# trigger. I installed it on my glock 19 and carry it all the time. I find the 3.5# trigger feels much better the then 5# one.

I have the 3.5# connector on all my Glocks. To me, it makes the trigger feel smoother with a slightly quicker reset for follow up shots.

I have the Glockmeister competition trigger pkg with the 3.5 connector in all three of my Glocks.

I have a 3.5 in my G30 and the stock 5.5 in my G23. If you shoot one after the other you can tell the difference. Im just waiting to have a little extra cash around so I can get the 3.5 for my G23.

Oh yeah, i have never had a mis-fire or and other problem in my G30 with the 3.5# connector installed.

I would put the argument the other way: Will the lighter trigger make your Glock a better CCW gun.

I think "no", because the standard trigger has no negative effect on accuracy. You could probably shoot as well with a New York 8 lbs. trigger.

On the other hand, the lighter trigger may contribute to an AD (people do funny stuff under stress). Glock sells their combat guns with a 5.5 or higher trigger. Their MATCH guns come with lighter. If the 3.5 was "just as safe", wouldn't the gun come like that?

Aside from the legal liability issue, that covers both arguments. I tend to be a little conservative about carrying: I would hate to hurt an innocent, including myself. As long as I know what I'm carrying will do the job, I'll always side on the safer practical course.

I'm with Tom B. I put the Glockmeister "drop in" competition triggers in four of my Glocks. Much smoother, much quicker follow-up shots, and (for me) more accurate.

As far as safety, it's a training issue. Keep your finger off the trigger (irrespective of the trigger weight) until your sights are on a target which you are ready to destroy.

FWIW I've never changed just the trigger connector bar. But those who do this speak very highly of the Scherer (sp?) 3.5 lb. connector.

Tell me what liability issues are there in a 3# trigger? You mean ND and not AD. Guns don't go off by themself. Morons that do not know how to keep their finger of the trigger when drawing their gun deserve to get shot in the ass.

Would you carry a Hi-Power safety off and cocked? Is that really very different? A HP at least has a 5 pound trigger.
