Glock 29 ejection problem

I purchased a Glock 29 with the intent of it being my primary carry pistol. I love this little powerhouse of a gun. Recoil seems less than my 20 and I shoot it well enough. However, one problem will have to be solved before it finds a home on my hip, a pesky ejection problem. With all types of ammo, there seems to be an ejection problem where the spent case gets stuck under the extractor. It is canted right from the ejector but it did not kick free. Obviously, this will tie the slide up and result in a jam. I called Glock and they said send it back. Is there a point I can perhaps apply some grease or whittle just slightly with a file or polishing stone without compromising the warranty? I know it's dumb but I don't wanna be without it for two or three months while Glock works it over.

Well, if a light polishing doesn't fix the problem (burr on the extractor?), you could call around to your local gunshops and see if any of them have a Glock Armorer on the premises who can replace the extractor. There's always one present at any GSSF-sanctioned match, as well.

Glock would probably return it withing a couple weeks. Anyway, take the slide off and look at the number stamped on the ejector. If it says 4340 then it is likely the problem. You can ask Glock to help you locate an armorer near you or do what I did and go to www.glockmeister.com and order the one that goes in the G30 (it will be a complete trigger housing with the ejector #8196 installed and will cost about $20 delivered) and put that in yourself and it will likely solve your problem. But if you already have the 8196 installed then send it to Glock to check out.
Glockmeister also has all the illustrated instructions you need to disassemble your Glock to replace the trigger housing/ejector and learning how to disassemble and reassemble your Glock is a valuable asset.
Good luck with the G29.

I bet your ejection problems are due to the stock OEM guide rod/spring assembly.

The assembly is a fragile design an has a tendency to bend over time.

The bend causes the flat wounds of the recoil spring to scrape against the locking block during cycling. This causes the entire assembly to move out of position.

The scraping and misalignment of the assembly is what is probably causing your ejection problems.

I would investigate this first, before sending it off to glock.

Replacing the assembly with a two piece unit from Wolff should cure your problem.

Wanted to thank everyone for their input, and especially HiCap who gets the prize. Installed the new ejector from Glockmeister and have run about 300 rounds through her, so far so good.
