Glock 27 or Sig 239? Help, I can't Decide.

I have narrowed my choice in a concealed carry weapon to either the Glock 27 or Sig 239. One day I like the Sig best, the next day I like the Glock. Someone please give me some deciding factors so I can make the choice.

Murray-Nevada, see the hyphenated last name looks classy :). And the class act is the Glock 27. Why? No one told it isn't a full sized pistol. The Glock 27 behaves like one. The Sig 239 feels muzzle heavy to me. I like a Glock 27 a whole lot if you can't tell. Regards, Richard.

I think both are excellent. My 239 (40) with Houge grips was a tad more accurate, and the action is similar to my Sig P232; so I sold the Glock 27. If you get the Glock, I would recommend a Pierce grip extender for all magazines. By the way, I never could load the 27 to its stated capacity.

I'm a big SIG fan, but also own a Glock 27, and feel you can't beat it for the size/capacity/caliber combination.

Still, I've added 3 things to my G27:

- Night Sights
- Pierce grip extender (1 with, 1 without)
- Wolff recoil assembly (my Glock version broke!)

I have the 27's brother, the (9mm.) 26. I have held the 239, though have never shot it, and found it to be a bit 'chunkier' than the slimmer 26/27 Glock models. I beleive also that the Glock is somewhat lighter. It all comes down to what feels best in your hands. Both are fine weapons. If you do choose the Glock 27, I would second the other posters' opinion on the magazine extensions. Pearce makes fine ones.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB

I would go for the Sig; that said, are you sure you don't want to consider a Kahr? You get a similar size as the 27 but youu can get a full three finger grip - just a thought.

Greetings, All my peers here on TFL know that
I rely heavily on Sig-Sauer/SigArms handguns;
but if I had to choose between the P239 or
the Glock 27, the deciding vote would be cast
in favor of the G27. You ask why? As a previous poster stated; "The Best Finish",
and with that said the tennifer finish on
the G27 wins hands down. :D

You can save yourself the agonizing decision of trying to pick which one to buy by just buying both of them :) I did. I use to carry my 27 all the time and loved it. Then I shot the 239 .40 and loved it more. So now my 239 is my carry gun.

Get the Steyr so that way you'll have brass thrown directly at your face. ;)

Go for what balances and points best for you. Glocks are great pistols, but they just don't fit my hand right. SIG Sauers for me fit like a custom made glove. I am more accurate with them and have never had a problem with rust. Take care of your stuff and it will take care of you. Choosing a CCW piece is a very personal thing, make sure you try plenty before you buy.

So many pistols, so little money.

MurrayNevada: I believe the SIG 239 is the best handgun in its size class. I own and shoot it in 9mm and in .357 SIG. It is very accurate, reliable and concealable. As a bonus it's easy and fun to shoot well. The .357 SIG is a kick to shoot and the 9 mm with the 10 round SIG extended magazine is great for IDPA. I love mine which both have night sights and Hogue grips. The .357 SIG model is one of 3 handguns now approved for FBI agent carry. Check out an evaluation of it and the other 2 in the new 3/00 issue of Gun Test. Regards, Dennis

I agree with DENNISE. The SIG is slightly more accurate and perhaps a bit more reliable. And, it is the best gun in its class.

The FBI just switched to .40 Glocks (22 and 23). I didn't think they were authorizing .357 Sig, the new service caliber for the Secret Service.

I don't get Gun Test nor do I have anywhere to purchase it. So, what does the article say?
