I WILL BE GETTING MY CCW SHORTLY. I AM CONSIDERING CARRYING IN MY FRONT TROUSER POCKET. I AM THINKING ABOUT GETTING EITHER A GLOCK 27 OR A MICRO KAHR ALSO IN .40. WHICH IS THE BETTER PISTOL? ALSO, IS THIS METHOD OF CARRY PRACTICAL WITH THIS SIZE OF GUN? I AM OF AVERAGE STATURE AND BUILD.

Ouch, my ears! First, get the silly gun out of your pocket and on your hip where it belongs.

Second, both are good guns. (I like the Kahr because it is flatter and thus better to carry--each to his own). Either one will do if you will do. Whichever one you go with by four of them--one to carry, one in the safe as a reserve, one at the smith, one hidden off your property in case you do something stupid like use it.

I own a Model 27 & it is a great gun. As per the previous post, it is NOT a pocket gun. If you stick one of these in the pocket of your trousers, you'll see what I mean.

I understand that Kahr makes very good guns, and they are a little trimmer than the Glocks. I do not care for the double action trigger pull though.

S5OON,

In case you were unaware, using all caps is like SHOUTING in the real world in internet terms.

Welcome to TFL. This is a great place to be. I really like it here and hope you do as well.

I have a Kahr MK40. This is a great little gun. Accurate and built to the point that it will be an heirloom for your decendents.

I don't now much about the Glock you refer to, but I know you will like the Kahr.

Welcome to TFL.

Good advice so far, either gun will work fine for you. The Glock has higher capacity but the Kahr is much slimmer (although slightly heavier?). Have you held both in your hand? These guns are both so good that it really matters how they feel in your palm and when you shoot them. That should decide it for you.

Definitely get yourself a good IWB (inside waist band) holster for your hip. It'll be there if you need it and your friends won't be calling you "one nut".

If you really must have a pocket carry gun, about the biggest one I can see being in a pocket is perhaps the Keltec P11, and it's too big for a lot of pockets.

Make sure you try putting one in your pocket to determine if thats what you want to do.

I think my Kahr MK40 weighs close to two pounds loaded and it is a bit much for my pants pocket.

Carry's just fine in an inside waistband holster.

I don't know about the kahr, but the glock is too fat to fit in any of my pants pockets. I use an inside the waist band, or a paddle holster on the hip.

I use an Uncle Mike's #4 pocket holster for my Glock 27. Fits fine. I don't wear jeans and I don't wear the Glock for any length of time. The Glock carries well and is hidden.
I prefer the G27 to the Kahr in its operation and for its ease in breaking down and assembly. Also, I have a Glock 35 (40 S&W)that shoots the same round, operates the same. They make a nice pair.
